Climate change countermeasures

Energy saving activities

Set office heating and cooling equipment to appropriate temperatures / Promote Cool Biz / Promote LED lighting conversion in company warehouses
Switch face-to-face meetings to web meetings (reduce human movement through air travel, etc.)

Introduction of renewable energy

The newly constructed warehouse will have solar panels installed. ※As the first phase, solar panels will be installed at the warehouse scheduled to be built in Ogori City, Fukuoka Prefecture (Scheduled for completion in November 2024).

Resource loss / waste reduction

Waste amount (recycling rate) / Cost reduction

Waste materials are sorted into processed and non-processed materials and then entrusted to specialized contractors (implemented at the Yokohama branch since 2016).
①Processed materials (such as plywood) → industrial waste
②Wood → 100% resource utilization (used for paper chips/household building materials)

Natural environment conservation

Obtained green management certification

Certification system for transportation companies engaged in environmental conservation efforts
(Kyushu Branch, Fukuoka Office, obtained and continued since 2006)

Proper storage / management of CoC certified products

Proper management within the warehouse to ensure that FSC and PEFC certified products are not mixed with non-certified products.

Use FSC-certified paper / recycled paper for office supplies such as copy paper.

FSC-certified paper: 100% used at the head office / Keihin branch
Recycled paper: 100% used at the Kansai branch / Kyushu branch.

Partnership / Donation support

Ongoing donation support to the Yamaguchi Prefecture disability support facility “Shouseien” (continuing since 2007).

Eco Cap Campaign (Started in July 2023)

By sending the plastic bottle caps collected within the company to a specific recycling company, we can contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and also support medical aid activities that deliver vaccines to children around the world.

From 2023/7/3 to 12/31: Weight 20.6kg, Donation amount 206 yen, 10.3 doses of polio vaccine

Promotion of the search engine 'Ecosia' (Starting in February 2025)

By searching with 'Ecosia', 80% of the advertising revenue is donated to WWF, contributing to tree planting activities. This is being implemented within the company as part of our environmental conservation efforts.

Solving social issues

We are working on solutions to address the 2024 fiscal year issues (such as regulations on truck driver overtime limits, transportation distance restrictions, and rising costs), and we are developing efficient logistics services that consider environmental and social factors, with the aim of proposing these solutions to our customers.

Annual working hours reduction rate: 5% reduction compared to the previous year (target for the 2026 fiscal year).

Promotion of women’s participation and advancement
(development of an action plan based on the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace for 5 years).
